Prec[edencia] de Tole[do] y Burg[os] : [Spain] : ms., 1656.

A treatise presented to Philip IV urging him to restore Toledo to its place of honor as the first city of the realm. A brief unedited and unknown text that undertakes the explanation of the origin and preeminence of the city of Toledo over that of Burgos, because, in the words of the author, to say otherwise would be to "predicar la procedencia de los reyes de Francia sobre los de España." In addition to advocating that Toledo is more ancient and of more noble origin than Burgos, the author asks the king to be the first to celebrate the public festivals in the kingdom. The dedication page contains the submission of the text to the king, dated 1656 and signed Fr. Diego Morales. The text contains 16 sections/chapters (cf. Cortijo for fuller description).
